1

What is the idea?

UK's first permanent postcode-matched business directory with pixel ownership. Solving distribution for 5.5M UK SMEs. The idea is simple: to raise £1,000,000 by selling pixels on an interactive UK map — from as little as £1 per pixel up to £10 per pixel in London. Hence, The Billion Pound Page.

Everyone is welcome to buy pixels, which are sold in blocks of at least 10×10 (100 pixels). When you buy a block, you can display your image, logo, or ad in that exact space on the UK map — placed in the region your business actually operates in. Your link clicks through to your own website. No obscene or offensive images are allowed.

The pixels you buy will be displayed on the map permanently. The page will not change. I guarantee to keep it online for at least 50 years, but the aim is to keep it alive far longer — a genuine piece of UK Internet history.

2

Who are you?

Billion Pound Page is not a pixel-selling gimmick. It is the UK's first permanent postcode-matched national business directory where businesses own their location on the map forever. The pixels are the proof-of-ownership. The map is the product. The directory is the utility. The culture is the movement. A Manchester café sits in the North West. A Mayfair boutique sits in London. That extra layer of meaning is what makes this different.

I built the whole thing myself — Next.js, Supabase, Stripe, and a custom HTML5 canvas renderer for the interactive map. No team, no VC money. Just code and the belief that it's a genuinely good idea.

3

Are you genuine — is this a joke?

We are Solving Distribution! UK SMEs spend £18B/year on marketing but lack hyperlocal reach. Billion Pound Page gives permanent, postcode-matched visibility for £1.

Verified listing in the local area support directory. Ranks for '[City] business support' in Google. Drives leads.

4

How did you come up with the idea?

It started from a saturday morning when I did not qualify for a Press Release funding for my business based on my business location. This was one of many opportunities I had missed in the past 2 years as a Startup Founder, this time I decided to pay it forward. I shared with someone who might benefit, I was so excited to hear that he did not only get a press Release but also got featured as Person of the week in a Newspaper article on the front page. In my excitement, I realised how many more opportunities I had and wanted to share with others to promote their businesses. From Marketing to pixels - value has always been a story we agree to believe. The Billion Pound Page is that story, but proudly British and mapped onto the UK immediately gives every pixel a sense of place.

Once that clicked, everything else followed: regional pricing (London costs more because digital real estate reflects physical real estate), an interactive zoom-to-region map. The map reflects who actually runs Britain — the barbers, the garages, the makers. Not a stock photo. The outtakes. Most importantly benefit is the Localised Business Support.

5

Why do you need £1m?

I don't need £1m specifically — but with a project like this you never know. Part of the national map. Featured in city clusters. In the time capsule. Bragging rights, forever.

The real goal is to build something that becomes a permanent fixture of the UK internet — a time capsule that people look back on the way people look back at the UK Internet Landmark. The money is proof of concept as much as anything else.

6

What will you do with the money?

First and foremost, keep the site online permanently — hosting, domain, and Supabase costs covered for the long haul. The goal is that this page exists decades from now, exactly as it is today.

Beyond that: invest in making the map even better — higher detail regions, engagement analytics for pixel owners, a press kit and media push to get more eyes on the page (which benefits every advertiser who's already bought in).

And honestly? If it makes serious money, I'd love to continue building my solution for the Healthcare Sector. The more businesses join, the more valuable every pixel becomes. It's network-effect ownership — a Wikipedia of British commerce.

7

Why should I buy your pixels?

You do not have to buy the pixels. However, It is a Permanent Postcode Ownership with your image, your logo, and a click-through link on a page that is designed to be seen by a large number of people and to stay online permanently. Fifty years minimum is guaranteed; the aim is forever. Not ads. Not listings. Ownership. When a business buys pixels in SR4, that patch belongs to them forever — like a digital land registry.

Beyond the raw traffic, there's novelty value. People share this kind of thing. And unlike a Google Ad that disappears the moment you stop paying, your pixel block is yours indefinitely. You're not renting space — you own it.

8

Why can't I buy one single pixel?

A single pixel is too small to display anything meaningful or to click reliably. The minimum is a 10×10 block (100 pixels), which is the smallest size you can fit a recognisable logo or icon into.

If you want to own a tiny slice and can't afford a larger block on your own, there's always the option of clubbing together with mates, friends, colleagues, or fellow members of a community to buy a block jointly.

9

How long will the site be online?

A minimum of 50 years is guaranteed. The goal is to keep it online forever — or as long as humanly possible. The whole point is for this to be an Internet time capsule: something unchanging in a web that never stops changing.

Hosting costs will be covered from revenue. Even if no more pixels are ever sold, the running costs of a static map are minimal — so there is no financial reason for the site to go dark.

10

Why do different regions cost different amounts?

Because digital advertising reflects physical real estate — and we all know London is expensive. A London pixel costs £10; a North East pixel costs £1. The pricing tiers are:

Region£ / pixel
London£3.34
South East£2.29
South West£1.82
East of England£2.05
East Midlands£1.30
West Midlands£1.40
Yorkshire£1.27
Wales£1.30
Scotland£1.15
Northern Ireland£1.20
North West£1.40
North East£1

The price you pay is based on whichever region the centre of your selected block falls in. The region is shown in the purchase modal before you pay.

11

If you want money, why don't you get a job?

I have one — it just happens to involve building things on the internet. My natural inclination is to think of ideas and build them. A regular job does not produce a permanent UK pixel map that could still be driving traffic to your business in 2040. This might.

That's not a cop-out — honest guv.

12

Are you worried about copy-cats and rip-offs?

Not really. Every £1 pixel purchase = permanent listing + local support directory + cultural map ownership. The originality and cultural fit with incredible DATA of localised support positioned Billion Pound Page as a Digital Identity Moat for UK businesses — none of the copies will have the same cultural impact. What makes this work is the specific execution: the UK map projection, the regional pricing, the realtime canvas. You can copy the concept but you can't copy the original.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Copy-cats will have comedy value; this will have actual advertisers. And as the original UK version, this is the one that journalists will write about. So, good luck to the imitators.

Can I put a pixel-sales count on my site or blog?

We don't have an embeddable widget yet, but if you want to link to the live stats you can always link directly to the homepage — the pixel count and progress bar are visible in the navbar on every page load.

If there's enough demand for an embeddable badge or API endpoint, we'll build one. Get in touch if you'd like to be notified when it's available.

More Questions

Can I buy multiple areas or postcodes?

Yes. Businesses that operate in multiple areas can claim several locations across the UK map, allowing them to link visitors to the most relevant local page or central website.

Can two businesses occupy the same exact spot?

No. Each pixel location is unique. If an area becomes crowded, nearby pixels are opened so every business remains visible and clickable.

What happens if I move premises or change address?

If your business moves within the UK, you can request an update to your postcode so your pixel reflects your new location while keeping your place on the map.

What can I display in my pixel?

Your pixel can display a simplified version of your brand such as a logo, icon or initials. When visitors click or hover over it they can see your business name and description.

Where does my pixel link to?

Your pixel can link to any destination you choose including your website, online shop, booking system, lead form or social media profile.

Can I change my link or artwork later?

Yes. Businesses can update their link or artwork to keep their presence current. Occasional updates are simple, while major redesigns may be treated as additional services.

Are there any content restrictions?

Content must comply with UK advertising standards. Illegal, hateful or misleading material is not permitted and certain sensitive categories may be restricted.

What does permanent advertising mean?

Permanent advertising means your pixel remains visible on the map for the lifetime of the Billion Pound Page project — minimum 50 years — rather than expiring after a short campaign.

Can I track clicks from my pixel?

Yes. You can use tagged URLs with your analytics tools to track traffic from your pixel. Platform-level click statistics may also be provided in the future.

What does unlocking local business support and funding mean?

Businesses that claim their postcode gain access to curated information about grants, training programmes, local initiatives and funding opportunities relevant to their area.

Who provides the business support and funding information?

Support opportunities are sourced from public schemes, local enterprise organisations and trusted partners across every UK region.

How do I purchase and upload my artwork?

You begin by searching your postcode and selecting your preferred map location. After checkout you upload your artwork and link, and the platform shows a preview of how it will appear on the live map.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are processed through Stripe — a PCI-compliant, encrypted payment provider. Major payment methods including credit and debit cards are accepted.

Will you feature businesses on social media or blog posts?

Yes. Selected businesses and creative campaigns may be highlighted on the Billion Pound Page blog, newsletter and social channels to give them additional exposure.

Are there referral rewards?

Yes. Businesses that refer others may receive rewards such as bonuses, additional visibility or special features as the platform grows.

Is the payment one-off or subscription-based?

Payment for a pixel is a one-off fee that secures your advertising space for the lifetime of the project. There are no recurring subscription fees.

Is Billion Pound Page an alternative to Google Ads?

Yes — for businesses that want permanent local visibility without ongoing spend. Unlike Google Ads that stop the moment you stop paying, a pixel is a one-off purchase that lasts forever.

How do you decide where my pixel appears on the UK map?

You enter your postcode during purchase and the system places your pixel in the appropriate region of the UK map, balancing geographic accuracy with map readability.
